Dan spent the first 20 years of his Christian life within the Calvary Chapel movement, a non-denominational ministry that emerged from the late 60’s and 70’s Jesus Movement that swept across America. During that time he pastored, helped plant numerous churches and was involved in international missions work in the Ukraine as well as serving for 15 years in Calvary Chapel ministries in Indianapolis. At that time, he also worked as an air traffic controller, and then in management with the FAA. Dan has spent the last 14 years serving in Wesleyan ministries, first in Indianapolis, and then upon retiring from the FAA in 2009, he and his family planted the first Wesleyan church in Utah, and now he is here in Wisconsin at Hillside Community Church.
Dan is committed to systematic Bible teaching by going verse by verse through the Bible with topical messages that are relevant to today’s world, and expository preaching that explains Bible passages. Dan teaches with an emphasis on love that transcends all cultural and ethnic barriers. Having led worship for many years Dan has a great appreciation for both contemporary and traditional music in worship and as a result seeks to find balance and blend between the two in our weekly corporate services.
Dan’s hobbies include sailing, hiking, snow skiing and when he can find someone to go with him, rock climbing.
